Meyers, Bert IN A DYBBUK’S RAINCOAT Collected Poems
$275.00Albuquerque: University of New Mexico Press, (2007) Â Published more than 30 years after his death from cancer at 51, this includes not only the poems that Meyers personally selected for a planned collected works but even more of his best poems, some previously unpublished, songs, selected prose, articles by Garrett Hongo and Jack Miles and more. “Gritty, self-reflective, raging, loving, political, embroiled in his surroundings and pounded in the sweetness of everyday life, Meyers offers us poems riddled with cantankerous musings, provoking images, skilled metaphor and a voice that long lingers under the skin, asking questions more than providing answers.” (Foreword). Â Introduction by Denise Levertov and foreword by Morton Marcus. INSCRIBED on the title page and signed simply “Dan” by Daniel Meyers, his son and co-editor of this book. Photographs. xiv, 266 pp. Condition: Very good in a near fine dust jacket ( foxing to top edge of text block, boards very slightly bowed, but overall an attractive, tight and clean copy)
